About the position

We are looking for a hands-on, full scope head of marketing who can take on the task of helping drive meaningful growth in demand generation and to be a foundational member of the go-to-market team.

You’ll have a critical role in structuring our entire go-to-market strategy and execution and helping scale the WireMock API developer productivity message for every engineering team. You’ll be able to operate and excel at a strategic level, but also need to be very comfortable getting into the details, rolling up your sleeves and making things happen. As we scale, you’ll hire and manage the marketing team.

Responsibilities

  • You will deeply understand our customer base and leverage your expertise in the Dev Tools/ API space to effectively market to the Developers and testing teams who can deeply benefit from using our product
  • You have experience in targeting Enterprise companies both in top down as well as bottom up motion
  • You will optimize our PLG funnel including increasing the number of registrants to our free edition, as well as activating users in the platform
  • You are able to work at a strategic high level but also be comfortable operating as an IC and getting into the details
  • You are an expert in using industry standard tools to generate and optimize results
  • Produce Marketing campaigns to generate PQLs, free registrants and bring in meetings with prospective customers
  • Set the content strategy and execute to deliver on going content that will contribute to WireMock SEO and brand awareness
  • Performance tracking- Establish KPIs and metrics to track website visits, campaigns, OSS website to WireMock Cloud conversion, new leads, meeting, number of free registrants, free to paid conversion, etc KPI
  • Product marketing- understanding our products. Creating and continuing to improve upon our value proposition in the form of positioning, compelling messaging, packaging and pricing
  • Regularly work with leadership to reevaluate our target audience and develop  a deep understanding of our customers and prospective customers
  • Creating and managing the Marketing budget

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience working as a Growth Marketer on a technical product with 5+ of those being in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a start-up environment. Hit the ground running by optimizing what we currently have in place and continuing to build the marketing function
  • Preference for experience in the Service Virtualization/API Management/Application testing space
  • At least 5 years of experience in product marketing for a technical offering to a technical audience
  • Experience in running a successful PLG motion in scale as well as top down Enterprise motion
  • Experience running A/B testing to optimize website performance
  • A track record of achieving aggressive goals
  • Highly efficient in marketing tools and systems with the ability to implement those
  • Experience running and managing various demand generation campaigns such as advertisements, conferences, outbound and ABM
  • Working 2 days a week in our bay Area Office
